For all those back home in Denver, we want to keep you up-to-date on all the happenings out here in Salt Lake. While we knew this Alpine community was behind us, it was truly incredible to see your outpour of support. Thanks to your generosity, we were able to make this trip happen with very minimal costs incurred by each athlete. Needless to say, this crew is ready to make you all proud!
Arriving in Salt Lake
Not too many updates tonight, but the team made thetrip safely and they’re all gathered under one roof here in SLC dialoguing about life and workouts over dinner (grilled chicken, baked sweet potatoes, salad, and plenty of Lenny and Larrys).
Topic of Conversation?
While talk of the workouts was a given, the team got a little deeper reflecting on their highs for the day, their lows for the day, and something they learned. Each athlete (and supporter) had to give insight into each of these questions. A few responses:
Coach Ian was stoked to see the team pick up a new, more efficient worm technique while training here in SLC
Megan’s low was saying goodbye to Scotch…obviously
Something they learned
Jake learned about some more…subtle traditions of the Church of Latter Day Saints
Preview For Tomorrow From Coach Ian
Tomorrow’s workouts will run at 9:00 and 10:20. For a little insight, here’s a brief recap of what Coach Ian had to say to the team:
- Communication is going to be HUGE, especially for that second workout (they proceeded to go over all their queues).
- With so many dynamic variables, they have to be prepared for when things go as planned (the team covered all sorts of scenarios, and hopefully they’ve come up with some good tactics to get through them)
- Don’t let other teams dictate your pace!
