How long have you been doing CrossFit? Who or what got you started?
Blair: I started in September. Bob and Maddie Moxley encouraged me to try it out! They said it was a lot of fun and would help me a lot in mountain biking!
Moxley: I started CrossFit about 6 months ago, in all intentions of beating my dad and brother
Tell us a little bit about yourself:
Blair: I am a junior in high school and race for the Golden high school mountain bike team. I love riding for fun with my dad and friends. I love the mountains and also the beach! I love traveling to new places and exploring new trails. I love being active and hanging out with the other Maddie.
Moxley: Since I go to CrossFit at 5:30am, I enjoy my morning naps and my afternoon activity witch is mountain biking. My favorite place to travel is Moab, and soon to be British Columbia. A career I really want to do is become a Red Bull sponsored rider.
What is your favorite memory at Alpine CrossFit?
Blair: My favorite memory is when everyone cheers each other on! It is so encouraging and it’s so much fun to hear everyone cheering! It’s also fun when Bob starts dancing right before we start a workout.
Moxley: My favorite memory was when I got my first bar muscle, or when I first did the CrossFit open and coming to do the workout and having everyone in the gym being there and having a good time.
What was your workout regimen before joining Alpine?
Blair: I used to do training rides all of the time and would ride my bike for fun. I would also do some workouts without equipment.
Moxley: Before I came to Alpine I was doing a lot of cross country mountain biking, and gymnastics.
How has CrossFit affected your life outside of the gym?
Blair: It has made me so much stronger, it has made me a morning person and it has made me love fitness so much more! It has made me a much better rider as well.
Moxley: CrossFit has effect my life outside of the gym by making me a stronger as a rider and having quality time with my dad.
If you could write a book, what would it be about?
Blair: My book would be about all of the memory’s and stories that Maddie M and I have.
Moxley: If I had to write a book it would probably be about all the adventures I have done and the people I have met.
What category would you be least excited/most excited to see on Jeopardy?
Blair: I would be most excited to see a category about snacks or food.
Moxley: What’s Jeopardy?
What was your first workout, and what did you think after doing it?
Blair: My first workout was the 9/11 workout. It was so hard and I was not prepared to do it that early in the morning. It made me feel so accomplished after I finished.
Moxley: I can’t really remember my first workout all I remember was the pain of knowing I had to wake up at 5 and do it all over again
What is your favorite and least favorite WOD?
Blair: My favorite WOD is anything with a barbell (I really love back squats) and my least favorite is anything with burpees.
Moxley: My favorite WOD is anything lifting for our PR’s so back squats, and snatches.
What are your favorite and least favorite movements?
Blair: My favorite movement is back squats, deadlifts and cleans. My least favorite movement is burpees and the assault bike.
Moxley: My favorite movements are probably snatches and bar muscle ups. My least favorite are box jumps and wall balls
What advice would you give a newbie just getting started at Alpine CrossFit?
Blair: Have fun with it and don’t put any pressure on yourself. Everyone is so encouraging and inviting! Try your best!
Moxley: If you work hard there’s a Winchells just down the street
