Q: HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING CROSSFIT? WHO OR WHAT GOT YOU STARTED?
A: I’ve been doing crossfit on and off since 2011. Robbie Zehner used to be my soccer coach and would bring us to Alpine to do workouts every Friday.
Q: TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF: (FAMILY, CAREER, HOBBIES, INTERESTS)
A: I lived in Colorado my whole life and am from a family of six. I have two younger brothers and one sister. I’m currently a student studying chemical engineering and spend my free time playing soccer, frisbee golf, bowling, billiards, hiking, and camping.
Q: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY AT ALPINE CROSSFIT?
A: Flipping tires with my soccer team when we were eleven. I loved doing crossfit workouts with my team.
Q: WHAT WAS YOUR WORKOUT REGIMEN BEFORE JOINING ALPINE?
A: Before I got into Crossfit, I did running and soccer training to stay in shape.
Q: HOW HAS CROSSFIT AFFECTED YOUR LIFE OUTSIDE OF THE GYM?
A: Crossfit has really boosted my physical and mental fitness. It’s been amazing to be part of such a strong community at Alpine.
Q: IF YOU COULD WRITE A BOOK, WHAT WOULD IT BE ABOUT?
A: I would write a beginners guide to frisbee golf
Q: WHAT CATEGORY WOULD YOU BE LEAST EXCITED/MOST EXCITED TO SEE ON JEOPARDY?
A: I’d love to see a category about an activity like frisbee golf or billiards
Q: WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST WORKOUT, AND WHAT DID YOU THINK AFTER DOING IT?
A: One of my first workouts was 50 burpees for time and I thought, wow I’m never doing burpees again
Q: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE AND LEAST FAVORITE WOD?
A: Favorite and least favorite is murph. It’s always a long grind but it feels so good afterwards
Q: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE AND LEAST FAVORITE MOVEMENTS?
A: My favorite movement is rowing and my least favorite is a tie between wall balls and burpees
Q: WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE A NEWBIE JUST GETTING STARTED AT ALPINE CROSSFIT?
A: Stick with it. There are an overwhelming amount of movements but it’s really rewarding to get better at them. It takes time to improve but it’s worth it
