How long have you been doing CrossFit? Who or what got you started?
I’ve been doing CrossFit for 10 years. Back in 2012, I was revered to paint the inside and outside of the gym. Robby the owner asked me to join. So, I did !
Tell us a little bit about yourself: (Family, career, hobbies, interests)
My family lives in the Detroit, Michigan area. I’m self employed, the name of my company is Arrow Painting & Drywall Repair. I’ve been painting all my life & I still love doing it.
What is your favorite memory at Alpine CrossFit?
I love the gym & working out. I like seeing all the people in the gym. I like all the coach’s that work in the gym.
What was your workout regimen before joining Alpine?
I worked out at 24 hour fitness. There are many different workout machines in the gym.
How has CrossFit affected your life outside of the gym?
Each day after I workout. It makes me feel confident, strong and happy.
If you could write a book, what would it be about?
First & fore-most, I would write a book about painting. Second, I would write a book about CrossFit.
What category would you be least excited/most excited to see on Jeopardy?
Sports are the most exciting! Video games are the least exciting.
What was your first workout, and what did you think after doing it?
Weight lifting & pull ups. I never thought I could lift heavy weight or do kipping pull ups. Now I can lift heavy weight & do butterfly pull ups. \
What is your favorite and least favorite WOD?
Cindy is one of my favorites. Chipper is one of my least favorite.
What are your favorite and least favorite movements?
My least favorite movement is the Snatch. My favorite movements are squatting & push ups.
What advice would you give a newbie just getting started at Alpine CrossFit?
My advice would be to workout 5 days a week for the fist 6 or 8 months. Do it the best you can. That’s how long it took me to start doing well.
