Q: HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DOING CROSSFIT? WHO OR WHAT GOT YOU STARTED?
A: I have doing CrossFit off and on since 2008. My son, Joe, was the one who got me started when he told me about his first workout which was Cindy.

Q: TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF: (FAMILY, CAREER, HOBBIES, INTERESTS)
A: I have been retired from the commercial insurance world since 05/2018. I have been married 40 years and we have 3 boys, 2 daughter in laws and 1 grandson. I love hanging out with my family, traveling and knitting. I am currently volunteering 1 day a week at the Community Table (aka the Arvada Food Bank)

Q: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE MEMORY AT ALPINE CROSSFIT?
A: Being a part of the 6:30 pm “Alpine After Dark” crew. The song “Sexual Healing” by Marvin Gaye was played a lot during that time!

Q: WHAT WAS YOUR WORKOUT REGIMEN BEFORE JOINING ALPINE?
A: I enjoyed doing Zumba and other aerobic classes through the rec center.

Q: HOW HAS CROSSFIT AFFECTED YOUR LIFE OUTSIDE OF THE GYM?
A: I am much stronger than I think I would be without CrossFit. I am able to help my husband with heavy lifting around the house. I also carry the Christmas food boxes at our church from the cars to the church. I get a little frustrated when the men say, let me get that, it’s heavy! I just give them the stink eye and pick up the box anyway.

Q: IF YOU COULD WRITE A BOOK, WHAT WOULD IT BE ABOUT?
A: I have no idea!

Q: WHAT CATEGORY WOULD YOU BE LEAST EXCITED/MOST EXCITED TO SEE ON JEOPARDY?
A: My least favorite category would be history and the most favorite category would be names of the 7 dwarfs

Q: WHAT WAS YOUR FIRST WORKOUT, AND WHAT DID YOU THINK AFTER DOING IT?
A: I don’t remember the name of my first workout but I do remember that I thought I was going to die but I kept going until I finished.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE AND LEAST FAVORITE WOD?
A: My favorite WOD is anything to do with rowing or the ski erg. My least favorite is anything to do with burpees and long distance running.

Q: WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE AND LEAST FAVORITE MOVEMENTS?
A: My favorite movement is either power cleans or deadlifts. My least favorite is front squats or thrusters.

Q: WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE A NEWBIE JUST GETTING STARTED AT ALPINE CROSSFIT?
A: Don’t give up, have fun and compete only with yourself.
