About Coach

I grew up dancing tap, jazz, and ballet! And then joined the dance team in middle and high school and continued competing with that through college at the University of Kentucky. Once that was said and done, I needed something to fill the void of 1. Being active and 2. Competing! Enter CrossFit. My husband got me a Groupon to try it because he was obsessed. And after my first workout, I was too! After watching the 2012 regionals I knew I needed to be out there competing with the team. And so I did! From 2013 through 2017, I trained hard with the team at CrossFit Maximus and we were able to accomplish 5 trips to Regionals and 3 Games appearances (2014, 2015, 2017). Those are some of my most cherished memories! And my former teammates still remain some of my best friends to this day. That’s what I love most about CrossFit. The community. Without it, Nate (my hot husband) and I would not be able to make friends as easily whenever we move to new cities! (We have had lots of big moves! From Kentucky to Philly, to Salt Lake, to Denver, all within 4 years!!) Thanks to communities like Alpine, we are able to make Denver feel like home.

Turning Point

I’m always fighting the battle with imposter syndrome. “I’m not good enough or I don’t know enough” bull honkey. Here’s a pro-tip... DONT LISTEN TO THAT INTERNAL BS. Start talking to yourself like you would a best friend. Compliment yourself. Admire yourself. Love yourself. Believe in yourself. You have control over your feelings and your outcomes! Don’t let yourself (or others) get you down. I’m not perfect when it comes to this. But if you can change your mindset to be more positive, everything else will follow suit.
